Diesel as a source of energy for transport is the accepted method for long haul journeys. Probably neither you nor Planet Matters has access to fossil fuel oil from wells, but Planet Matters can create its own oil fields by growing alternative crops such as Jatropha and Pongarnia. The berries of these crops can be simply and economically processed in to diesel which can be used in ordinary diesel engines.
